DISCLOSURE AND TRANSPARENCY

Shutter Nonsense Cookie Policy

Effective Date: July 23, 2026
Last Updated: July 23, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Shutter Nonsense uses cookies and similar technologies on www.shutternonsense.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Shutter Nonsense is currently operated by Michael Rung and Jeffrey Tadlock under the Shutter Nonsense brand. References in this Cookie Policy to “Shutter Nonsense,” “we,” “us,” or “our” mean Michael Rung and Jeffrey Tadlock acting together in connection with the website and related Shutter Nonsense activities. After Shutter Nonsense LLC is formally organized and assumes operation of the website, we will update this policy to identify the LLC as the operator.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to cookies and similar technologies used on the Shutter Nonsense website, including technologies associated with website hosting, security, consent management, forms, comments, email marketing, analytics, embedded podcast and video players, affiliate links, and features that may be added later, such as workshop registration, payment tools, advertising measurement, remarketing, and a private workshop-alumni community.

This policy does not govern cookies or technologies used on websites or services operated independently by third parties after you leave our website. Those services are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.

2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Cookies can help a website operate, remember choices, understand how visitors use the site, or support advertising and measurement.

We also use or may use similar technologies, including local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, software development tools, device or browser identifiers, embedded media, and tracking links. In this policy, “cookies” generally includes these related technologies unless the context requires otherwise.

Cookies may be set directly by Shutter Nonsense or Wix as first-party cookies. They may also be set or accessed by third-party services, such as Google, YouTube, Podbean, payment providers, or advertising platforms.

3. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

Depending on your choices and the features you use, cookies and similar technologies may help us:

  • Operate, deliver, secure, and maintain the website.

  • Remember your cookie-consent choices and other website preferences.

  • Provide forms, comments, podcast playback, video playback, and other website features.

  • Measure website traffic, referral sources, page views, visitor interactions, and technical performance.

  • Understand which educational articles, podcast episodes, workshop pages, and other content are useful to visitors.

  • Measure email opens and link clicks in messages sent through Wix Email Marketing.

  • Attribute qualifying purchases made through affiliate links.

  • Support workshop registration, payment, fraud prevention, customer service, and account access when those features are added.

  • Measure advertising performance, build audiences, or provide personalized advertising if we introduce those activities in the future and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

4. Cookie Consent and Your Choices

We use the Usercentrics for Wix consent-management service and display a cookie banner to visitors globally. The banner allows you to accept all optional technologies, reject optional technologies, or choose among available categories.

Technologies that are necessary to operate, secure, or deliver the website may be active without optional consent. Other technologies are controlled according to the category and blocking rules maintained through Wix and Usercentrics. Some website features may be unavailable or work differently when you decline the technologies associated with them.

You may change or withdraw your choices at any time by selecting the Cookie Settings control in the website footer or the privacy control displayed on the website. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier consent-based processing unlawful, but it changes how eligible technologies may operate after your choice is updated.

The names and categories displayed in Cookie Settings are maintained through Wix and Usercentrics and may differ slightly from the plain-English descriptions in this policy. The Cookie Settings panel is the most current component-level inventory for the website.

5. Categories of Technologies

Essential Technologies

Essential technologies support functions such as website delivery, security, fraud prevention, network management, consent records, forms, basic settings, and other services needed for the website to operate. These technologies generally cannot be disabled through the cookie banner. Blocking them through browser settings may cause parts of the website to stop working properly.

Functional and Embedded-Media Technologies

Functional technologies support optional features such as podcast playback, video playback, saved preferences, comments, or community features. Embedded content can also allow the provider of that content to receive technical and interaction information when the content is loaded or used. Depending on how Wix or Usercentrics categorizes a specific component, it may be controlled through a functional, analytics, advertising, or other optional-consent category.

Analytics Technologies

Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors find and use the website. They may collect information such as pages viewed, session activity, referring sources, approximate location, browser and device information, interactions with website features, and pseudonymous identifiers. We use this information to evaluate performance and improve our podcast, educational content, workshops, and website experience.

Advertising and Marketing Technologies

Advertising technologies can support conversion measurement, remarketing, audience creation, campaign reporting, or personalized advertising. These technologies may use cookies or other identifiers to recognize a browser or device across visits and, depending on the provider and your choices, across websites or services.

As of the effective date of this policy, we do not use Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, customer-list matching, or similar advertising pixels to create personalized audiences on the website. Some Google tagging infrastructure used for analytics is technically capable of supporting additional Google services. If we enable advertising measurement, remarketing, or personalized advertising later, we will update our disclosures, rescan the website, and apply the relevant consent controls.

6. Current Website Providers and Technologies

Wix

Our website is built and hosted on Wix. Wix provides website infrastructure, content-management functions, forms, comments, contact management, email marketing, security features, and related services. Wix may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to deliver and protect the website, remember settings, support visitor interactions, and provide analytics when permitted.

Usercentrics for Wix

Usercentrics for Wix operates our cookie banner and consent-management controls. It uses necessary technologies to display the banner, store or retrieve your choices, maintain consent records, and apply those choices to supported website components.

Wix Analytics and Google Analytics

We use Wix Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand website use and performance. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies and related identifiers to distinguish visitors and sessions and to measure interactions with the website. Analytics collection is controlled through the applicable consent setting where required.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, workshop form responses, message contents, medical or accessibility information, or other directly identifying form information to Google Analytics. Google Analytics user-provided data collection is disabled.

Google tagging technology may appear in Cookie Settings as Google Tag, Google Tag Manager, Google Tag Services, or a similar label. The category and blocking behavior shown in Cookie Settings are maintained by Wix and Usercentrics.

YouTube

The website may include YouTube videos through Wix or an embedded YouTube player. When a YouTube component is permitted and loaded, Google or YouTube may receive information such as your IP address, device or browser information, page context, and interactions with the video. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google may associate your interaction with that account according to its own policies.

Wix Podcast Players and Related Services

We use the Wix Podcast Player and podcast content hosted by Podbean or other third party services to display and play Shutter Nonsense episodes. These services may load player scripts, content-delivery resources, media files, and other technical components. When the player is loaded or used, Wix, Podbean, or related service providers may receive technical and playback information according to their own policies and the consent settings available on the website.

A website scan may display many individual script, player, content-delivery, or media-resource URLs associated with the same podcast service. Those technical resources do not necessarily represent separate services or separate purposes. The Cookie Settings panel provides the current component information reported through Wix and Usercentrics.

Wix Email Marketing

Emails sent through Wix Email Marketing may contain tracking pixels or tracked links that allow us to record whether a message was opened and whether a link was clicked. These email technologies are not necessarily controlled by the website cookie banner. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link provided in the message.

7. Affiliate Links

Some links on the website may be affiliate links associated with Shutter Nonsense, Michael Rung, or Jeffrey Tadlock. When you select an affiliate link, the merchant, affiliate network, or other third party may use a referral identifier, cookie, or similar technology to attribute a qualifying purchase. Those technologies are controlled by the third party and are governed by its policies.

Affiliate relationships are also disclosed near applicable recommendations or links where appropriate. Using an affiliate link does not increase your purchase price unless clearly stated otherwise.

8. Future Workshop, Payment, Advertising, and Community Features

We expect to add or expand website features over time. These may include workshop registration, Wix Payments, PayPal, invoicing tools, forms for participant logistics and accommodations, conversion tracking, Google Ads, Meta Ads, remarketing, personalized advertising, and a private Wix-based community for workshop alumni.

When these features are introduced, the relevant providers may use essential, functional, analytics, security, fraud-prevention, or advertising technologies. Some providers may operate on their own websites after you follow a link or begin a payment process. Before materially changing our use of cookies or similar technologies, we will update the website scan, consent configuration, this policy, and our Privacy Policy as appropriate.

The future alumni community is intended for adults age 18 or older. Account, login, security, preference, moderation, and session technologies may be necessary for that service to operate.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

Third-party providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they or their service providers operate. Their privacy practices, retention periods, security measures, and cookie settings are governed by their own policies and agreements.

When you follow a link to Patreon, a podcast platform, a social-media platform, an affiliate merchant, a payment provider, or another third-party service, the third party may use cookies or similar technologies independently of Shutter Nonsense. Our banner does not control technologies placed on a third party’s own website or app.

10. Cookie Duration and Data Retention

Some cookies are session cookies and expire when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies and remain until their stated expiration date or until you delete them. The duration depends on the purpose and provider.

Because Wix and third-party providers may add, remove, rename, or change individual technologies, exact cookie names and durations may change over time. Open Cookie Settings for the current component information available through Usercentrics. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we retain the personal information we control, which may differ from the lifespan of a particular cookie.

Deleting cookies may also delete your saved consent choice. If that happens, the cookie banner may be shown again on a later visit.

11. Browser and Device Controls

Most browsers allow you to review, block, or delete cookies and to limit some forms of tracking. Browser controls operate separately from the consent choices available on our website. Blocking all cookies may prevent the website, forms, media players, comments, or future account features from functioning correctly.

You can also use privacy settings, content blockers, or tools offered by individual providers. Those controls are managed by your browser, device, extension, or the relevant third party, not by Shutter Nonsense.

12. Sale and Use for Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation. If future use of advertising or audience technologies is considered a sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising under an applicable law, we will provide any notice and choice mechanism required by that law. You may also use Cookie Settings to reject applicable advertising technologies where they are offered.

13. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, providers, legal obligations, or business practices change. The Last Updated date at the top of the policy shows when it was most recently revised.

For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the website, the cookie banner, email, or another reasonable method when appropriate or legally required.
