"The Smoky Mountain workshop this spring was my second with Jeff (which should say something right there), and this time with the added benefit of having Michael Rung join as a co-leader. They complement each other in the workshop, combining unique strengths and adding extra enjoyment.

In both this and the West Virginia workshop I attended last fall, Jeff clearly works hard in advance to scope out the best locations, occasionally with backups for changes in weather. These workshops have taken my photography to the next level, not only with the help Jeff provides in the field but also in the editing and image evaluation portions of the workshop, which usually occur in the middle part of the day between early morning and sunset outings. Safety is his top priority, as some locations can be challenging, but the information provided beforehand, either in his written materials or in response to emailed questions made me very well prepared for everything.

And the help did not stop when the workshop did: I have frequently reached out with questions about everything from editing to equipment and have promptly received a very thorough, personalized response. With what I have learned, I’m finally able to produce and share excellent photos and learn things that I can carry over into my other photography efforts as well! It was a small group, and I think we all had a wonderful experience shooting with Jeffrey and Michael. They were always nearby and kept tabs on all of us to make sure we had the best experience in the field.
